Judas Called Upon for Help. ⁹ The Gentiles in Gilead^[a] banded together against the Israelites who were living in their territory, with the intention of destroying them. However, the Israelites fled to the stronghold of Dathema ¹⁰ and sent the following letter to Judas and his brothers: “The Gentiles around us have banded together to destroy us, ¹¹ and they are preparing to come and seize this stronghold in which we have taken refuge. Timothy is in command of their army.
